There's nothing like the perfect apple crisp recipe! Goetze's Candy has added a caramel twist to this classic recipe.
This recipe serves about six people. For parties and Thanksgiving dessert, triple the recipe and bake it in a casserole dish.

ingredients

Apple Filling

  • 3 large apples, peeled and diced
  • 3 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 12 unwrapped Caramel Creams®

Crisp Topping

  • 1/3 cup butter, chilled, diced
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup of flour

Apple Filling

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • Peel and dice the apples. Toss the apple pieces with 12 unwrapped Caramel Creams®. Pour the mix into the bread dish and set it aside.
  • Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a medium bowl. Whisk in the brown sugar, followed by the flour, cinnamon, salt, vanilla, and lemon juice. Pour the mixture over the apples and Caramel Creams®.

Crisp Topping

  • Mix all of the ingredients in a food processor until the topping clumps together.
  • Sprinkle the topping over the apples and bake for 45 minutes. Cool the caramel apple crisp from hot to warm before serving. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
