There's nothing like the perfect apple crisp recipe! Goetze's Candy has added a caramel twist to this classic recipe.This recipe serves about six people. For parties and Thanksgiving dessert, triple the recipe and bake it in a casserole dish.
ingredients
Apple Filling
- 3 large apples, peeled and diced
- 3 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch of salt
- 12 unwrapped Caramel Creams®
Crisp Topping
- 1/3 cup butter, chilled, diced
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup oatmeal
- 1/2 cup of flour

Apple Filling
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Peel and dice the apples. Toss the apple pieces with 12 unwrapped Caramel Creams®. Pour the mix into the bread dish and set it aside.
- Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a medium bowl. Whisk in the brown sugar, followed by the flour, cinnamon, salt, vanilla, and lemon juice. Pour the mixture over the apples and Caramel Creams®.
Crisp Topping
- Mix all of the ingredients in a food processor until the topping clumps together.
- Sprinkle the topping over the apples and bake for 45 minutes. Cool the caramel apple crisp from hot to warm before serving. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
