where it all began
In 1895, father-and-son duo August and William Goetze purchased the Baltimore Chewing Gum Company. Over time, their love for confectionery craftsmanship led them to evolve from gum to caramel—and the rest is sweet history. By 1918, they’d perfected the signature treat: Caramel Creams®, a chewy caramel with a soft, creamy center.
